{"id":97,"date":"2011-10-13T12:17:32","date_gmt":"2011-10-13T17:17:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jdunn.journalism.cuny.edu\/?p=97"},"modified":"2011-10-13T12:17:32","modified_gmt":"2011-10-13T17:17:32","slug":"remaking-the-toxic-gowanus-canal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/articles.juliandunn.net\/?p=97","title":{"rendered":"Remaking the toxic Gowanus Canal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Once a vital transportation channel for Brooklyn&#8217;s heavy industries, the toxic Gowanus Canal was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wnyc.org\/articles\/wnyc-news\/2010\/mar\/02\/gowanus-canal-named-superfund-site\/\">named a federal Superfund cleanup site<\/a> in March 2010.
